About the Role
Stratosphere Quality is seeking a Supplier Quality Representative with a strong engineering background and hands-on knowledge of automotive manufacturing. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams, ensuring the highest standards of product quality while identifying and resolving issues proactively.
What You’ll Do
Serve as the primary liaison with manufacturing, quality, and engineering personnel for supplier parts and processes
Monitor all phases of production to detect and correct potential quality concerns early
Analyze incoming, in-process, and finished products to provide feedback and ensure preventive containment
Prioritize work, respond to product concerns, and report findings in a clear, timely format
Coordinate containment of defective parts and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed
Conduct daily scrap reporting, including traceability and documentation
Capture photos of parts and share with relevant teams for analysis and communication
Monitor test equipment performance, scrap rates, and machining efficiency (OEE)
Audit pre-machining, assembly, and functional processes to verify product quality
Review inventory levels, including WIP, finished goods, and raw materials, and escalate concerns as appropriate
Troubleshoot machining and production issues, working closely with engineering and reliability teams
Conduct daily floor walks to monitor production processes, solicit operator feedback, and report issues
Participate in quality calls, shift start meetings, and proactive audits of components
Manage sorting and containment processes when required
Ensure professional, responsive, and respectful communication in all interactions
Perform other duties as required to support site quality and operational goals
Qualifications
Engineering or technical background
Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and quality standards
Experience with inspecting and auditing production components
Proficiency with hand measuring devices and basic tools
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking ability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work assigned hours based on business and operational needs
Professional, proactive, and able to build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams
