Summary of Responsibilities

Stratosphere Quality is seeking a skilled Quality Engineer (Supplier Quality Engineer focus) for a contract assignment in Perrysburg, OH. This role will play a key part in evaluating supplier materials, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving corrective actions to improve supplier performance.

This position requires a hands-on professional with strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and proven experience in quality engineering and supplier management.

 

Position Title: Quality Engineer (Contract)
Location: Perrysburg, OH
Employment Type: Contract - approximately 3 months
Compensation:  $50–$55/hr
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday schedule may vary
Start Date: ASAP

Essential Job Function

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform failure analysis and inspection techniques on supplier materials.

  • Support supplier audits, assessments, and source inspections.

  • Evaluate supplier approval status and determine when corrective action plans are necessary.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, supplier representatives, and customers on material quality issues.

  • Initiate and monitor corrective and preventive action processes.

  • Assess supplier processes and capabilities using statistical process control (SPC).

  • Mentor suppliers to improve performance levels and align with customer requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.

  • Strong experience in quality engineering and/or supplier quality engineering.

  • Excellent knowledge of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP documentation, control plans, flow charts, and data analysis.

  • Hands-on expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T, and measurement techniques.

  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented, with a results-driven mindset.
