Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Tallapoosa, GA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Day Shift, Hours May Vary Depending on Project Needs)
Salary Range: $65,000 – $70,000 annually
Hours: 40+ Hours per Week


As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet engineering drawings and specifications through in-depth analysis and collaboration.

You will also serve as a problem-solver and a liaison between the production floor, suppliers, and quality contractors.

Essential Job Function

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing parts and assemblies to ensure they meet specifications and design intent

  • Managing the containment and disposition of suspect or non-conforming parts and units

  • Conducting investigations based on prior shift reports and identifying root causes

  • Communicating with suppliers to report quality issues and request corrective action

  • Directing sorting contractors and overseeing rework/inspection processes

  • Monitoring quality issue containment efforts and validating effectiveness daily

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering innovation within the team

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications and skills:

  • Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T

  • Proficient with measurement tools and inspection techniques

  • Understanding of ISO-9001 and/or IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems

  • Familiarity with mechanical and electro-mechanical manufacturing processes

  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Certified Auditor

  • Experience in a variety of manufacturing processes or mass assembly operations

  • ISO based quality management system, Lead Internal auditor experience

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and  Six Sigma
